No clinical license required, anywhere in the catalog. Five roles carry a state dimension in the work itself, but the license in question always belongs to the provider being credentialed — never to you.

Federal Payer Operations sits across all eight. It is the subject matter of the CFPO course rather than a ninth subspecialty, which is why the count stays at eight and 78.

From enrolled to engaged

Four steps, in this order. Nothing is skipped and nothing is fast-tracked for anyone.

Step 1

Train

Pick the course that matches where you are starting from. Refresher if you have done this work before; Federal Payer Operations if you intend to carry clients of your own.

Step 2

Get screened

You pay DutyPath, DutyPath orders the check through its Checkr account, and you complete it on Checkr's own platform through a link sent to you.

Step 3

Build the listing

Subspecialty and roles, courses completed, CFPO where held, your résumé, your LinkedIn, your company logo. It goes live once screening clears.

Step 4

Get chosen

A provider reads your listing and contacts you. You quote your own rate and contract with them directly, as an independent contractor.

How the work reaches you

There is no queue, no dispatcher and no assignment. A provider browses the directory, reads your listing and contacts you. What follows is yours to negotiate.

Screening is a condition of listing. Every member shown through a hub link must complete background screening before the listing goes live.

No employment or income promise. Membership buys training, software and a listing. It does not guarantee engagement, client volume or earnings.

Questions members ask

Do I need a clinical background?

No. Nothing in the catalog requires a clinical license, a clinical degree or patient-facing experience. What it requires is precision with documents and deadlines, and the willingness to chase a payer who has not responded.

Is this a job with DutyPath?

No. DutyPath is not an employer and not a staffing agency. You are building an independent practice: providers select you from the directory and contract with you directly. We sell you the training, the software and the listing.

What will I earn?

We do not answer that, and you should be sceptical of anyone in this field who does. You set your own rates, you decide how many provider clients to carry, and the outcome depends on both. We publish no earnings figures, projections or averages.

How long until I can take a client?

That depends on the course you take and how quickly screening clears. The sequence never changes: train, screen, list, then be selected. A listing does not go live before screening is complete.

Why no photograph on my profile?

By design. Support professional listings carry a company logo and a LinkedIn link rather than a photograph or video, so a provider is comparing documented work and credentials rather than faces. Providers are the only class of member with visual profiles, because a support professional deciding whether to take an engagement benefits from seeing the practice.

Can I work in more than one subspecialty?

Yes, and most working members do. The eight are a map of the field, not a set of walls. Credentialing and enrollment in particular are almost always carried together, because a lapse in one stalls the other.

Do I have to affiliate with Veterans Desk or Mendry?

You pick one, and it is the community shown on your listing. Membership itself is held with DutyPath either way. Neither nonprofit charges you anything and neither takes your membership.

I am still serving. Can I start now?

Yes, and the training is designed to be worked around a duty schedule. Check your own service's rules on outside employment before you take an engagement, and note that Army Credentialing Assistance has its own eligibility rules — commissioned officers have been ineligible since 19 March 2026.
